Yale Summer Scholars Opthalmology Enrichment Session

November 11, 2017

Yale Pathways Summer Scholars brings 100 local high school students to Yale’s campus for two weeks from July 10th - 21st. During this time, students delve into STEM workshops on topics ranging from atmospheric geophysics to molecular engineering and musical acoustics. One of the core goals of the Summer Scholars program is to promote STEM persistence in college, and approximately half of Summer Scholars students are first generation college students.

Along with members of the Department of Ophthalmology, the Yale League of Black Scientists held an Ophthalmology and Optical Physics enrichment session where students could learn about the basics of optical physics and how the eye uses them to form images!
